The Secure Community Network (SCN) is looking for a talented Graphic Designer to join the team as a full-time employee to assist in the design, development, and production of best-in-class creative.

A successful candidate must be an organized, inspired individual who demonstrates a high level of technical ability, a strong sense of design principles, and attention to detail. We are looking for a smart, skilled, passionate person to join our talented, growing team.

The Graphic Designer will support a wide range of initiatives and campaigns for digital, social, and print formats, as well as help to evolve and develop the creative needs for the organization's brand identity and visual standards. The Graphic Designer will be responsible for designing deliverables including, but not limited to, proposals and presentations, brochures and flyers, and infographics, all requiring a look and feel tailored to each project.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the fundamentals and principles of design, as well as Adobe Creative Cloud and design techniques, and will be collaborative and able to adapt to changing priorities and iterative project development. This role requires a high level of strategic planning, critical thinking, resourcefulness, and the ability to communicate the motivation for your design choices. This is a collaborative role and extensive interaction with the SCN team is required to be successful in the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Design static and interactive graphics for print, web, and social, slides and decks, brochures, logos, signs, advertisement, and packaging for communication and marketing campaigns, donor opportunities, and other initiatives
  • Develop original creative content based on supporting strategy and brand guidelines, as well as deliver supporting designs
  • Work closely with the SCN team to develop the creative needs of the organization, including the evolution of the organization's brand identity and visual standards
  • Serve as lead designer in asset creation for SCN's digital channels, including website, social media channels, and e-mail/digital marketing
  • Conceptualize and build custom creative concepts for donor engagement and partner presentations
  • Prepare images for production through color correction and photo retouching techniques
  • Prepare final layouts for print and assist in the production process
  • Administer logo usage and execution of brand standards
  • Review final products for any errors or defects to ensure final prints meet SCN's standard
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects within design specifications
  • Interact with, to include managing, third party agencies, including advertising/marketing agencies, marketing partners, and vendors to deliver the best end solution
  • Coordinate graphic needs and logistics involved in delivering materials to team members, partners, and/or event location(s).

Skillset:

  • Conceptualize, design, and push the SCN brand to a new frontier
  • Must have a portfolio that showcases an attention to detail and a passion for great ideas and design
  • Must be adept at extending established brand standards and voice from one piece to others
  • Employ visual storytelling across presentations and slides, as well as create original graphics, illustrations, data visualizations, process flows, and charts.
  • Ability to execute a range of projects and work
  • Create original branding, print, digital collateral, and branded content all within brand standards
  • Take an idea from brainstorm to final production in print and digital
  • Successfully execute a large volume of revisions to an asset with minimal oversight
  • Build style sheets and maintain brand standards
  • Communicate with team members and other stakeholders to clarify requests and gather inputs needed to produce content

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or digital art
  • At least 2 years experience as a Graphic Designer
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in the Apple environment
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design software
  • Knowledge of layouts, fundamental graphics, print, and web design
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated current knowledge of widely used Internet-based services and social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain smooth functioning relationships
  • Ability to lead projects and take on more responsibility as the position dictates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Founded in 2004 by The Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, SCN supports individuals and Jewish organizations through information and intelligence-sharing, security assessments of organizations and facilities, training, consultation, and incident response on behalf of 146 Federations, 50 partner organizations and over 300 independent communities as well as with other partners across sectors.
