Responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of all of the Organization's marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Responsible for building external relationships with the organization's constituencies, including funders, media, and other stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Work closely with the National Director / CEO, executives, and key stakeholders to develop marketing communication strategies to support marketing plans and grassroots outreach.
  • Serve as liaison with Jewish groups, donors, and law enforcement professionals collaborating on internal marketing communications.
  • Develop and oversee all external and internal communications materials including but not limited to newsletters and other print publications, videos, web content (to include website, social media, blog, and related efforts), e-news, and other online communications.
  • Define, develop and execute an annual marketing strategy and tactical plan, including event programs, online advertising, email, direct mail, and web portals.
  • Serve as point of contact with external partners on communications strategies, program design, development implementation.
  • Facilitate the internal development of materials, addressing branding and managing consultants and vendors
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and challenges, and work with leadership to address, define and execute appropriate communication strategies to address opportunities and challenges
  • Recommend, initiate and lead marketing research and analytic initiatives to support brand and organization's objectives; enforce brand standards across the organization; responsible for brand management including artwork and graphics.
  • Manage all marketing and outreach aspects of new program launch, including collaboration with staff.
  • Create budget projections, milestones, timelines, and ROI.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Minimum 5 7 years experience in marketing, communications, and public relations in a nonprofit entity, and covering areas such as website content, newsletters, and donor communications
  • Highly collaborative style; experience developing and implementing communications strategies
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills
  • A strong track record as an implementer who thrives on managing a variety of key initiatives concurrently
  • Sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including staff, board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office in an Apple environment; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and graphics production technologies
  • Exposure to Salesforce (helpful)

The Secure Community Network (SCN), a nonprofit 501(c)(3), is the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America. Founded in 2004 by The Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, SCN supports individuals and Jewish organizations through information and intelligence-sharing, security assessments of organizations and facilities, training, consultation, and incident response on behalf of 146 Federations, 50 partner organizations and over 300 independent communities as well as with other partners across sectors.
