DESCRIPTION OF POSITION FOR AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (IT) COORDINATOR:

The IT Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of the Secure Community Network (SCN) information technology systems and networks. The coordinator will manage all technical components of the organization's computer and telecom systems and directly support team members with functionality and troubleshooting. This role requires technical project manager and administrator expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install and configure software and hardware for the SCN Chicago office and locally-based team members, as well as cloud-based configurations to support the organization nationally
  • Develop, implement, and enforce organizational IT protocols
  • Support or train team members on necessary IT infrastructure and functions
  • Liaise with higher-level managed support and facilitate interaction with end-users
  • Monitor system and network performance and undertake regular, proactive maintenance activities
  • Maintain licenses and upgrade schedules
  • Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation and guidance
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to maintain standards and functionality
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc or BA in information technology or computer science
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience as an IT coordinator or relevant position
  • Strong background in network management and technical support
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP protocols, LAN/WAN configuration, SFTP, and SAML SSO
  • Working knowledge of basic Microsoft O365 and Azure administrative functions
  • Ability to quickly master new technology
  • Demonstrated capability to design and implement scalable, best practice solutions
  • Documented history of successful project completion
  • Self-motivated and proactive attitude
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong organizational and coordination abilities with close attention to detail
  • Adept at translating requirements into technical solutions
  • Ability to train end-users and key stakeholders

Founded in 2004 by The Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, SCN supports individuals and Jewish organizations through information and intelligence-sharing, security assessments of organizations and facilities, training, consultation, and incident response on behalf of 146 Federations, 50 partner organizations and over 300 independent communities as well as with other partners across sectors.
