JOB SUMMARY:

The Meeting and Events Manager will assess and conceptualize the Secure Community Network (SCN's) needs and desires for various national meetings, conventions, conferences, and events and make all arrangements necessary to execute to SCN's standards through all phases of planning, management, and evaluation.

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Organized with superb attention to detail
  • Creative and practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to respond to problems and to assist clients with a calm, courteous, and helpful manner and attitude
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of managing large-scale events. Experience with nonprofit or government-related conferences and meetings is desirable.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office on a MAC
  • Availability to travel. 10-15% domestic travel. It may include some international travel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, communications, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience (required)
  • Five or more years of event and conference planning experience
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable but not required

Founded in 2004 under the auspices of The Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, SCN works on behalf of over 50 national Jewish non-profit organizations, 146 Federations, and over 300 independent communities as well as with other partners in the public, private, non-profit and academic sectors to ensure the safety, security, and resiliency of the Jewish people.
