The Secure Community Network (SCN), is the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America. Founded in 2004 under the auspices of The Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, SCN works on behalf of over 50 national Jewish non-profit organizations, 146 Federations, and over 300 independent communities as well as with other partners in the public, private, non-profit, and academic sectors to ensure the safety, security, and resiliency of the Jewish people.


We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and creative Meeting and Events Manager. If you have a passion for event planning and a desire to use that passion for a greater purpose, then this position might be for you.


Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, the Meeting and Events Manager will assess and conceptualize SCN's needs and desires for various national meetings, conventions, conferences, and events. The Meeting and Events Manager will make all arrangements necessary to execute to SCN's standards through all phases of planning, management, and evaluation. This person will also be responsible for creating and maintaining stellar relationships with third parties and vendors. Being a team player is a must as collaboration with other staff members will be required.


  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • Five or more years of event and conference planning experience
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Organized with superb attention to detail
  • Creative and practical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to respond to problems and to assist clients with a calm, courteous, and helpful manner, and attitude
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of managing large-scale events.
  • Experience with nonprofit or government-related conferences and meetings is desirable.


  • A competitive salary commensurate to experience.
  • Availability to travel 10-15% domestic travel with a potential for some international travel.
