We are Secure Community Network (SCN), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) serving as the official safety and security organization of the Jewish community in North America. If you consider yourself an ambitious and self-motivated Grants professional who can support expanding SCN's assistance to Jewish organizations to obtain vital Federal grant funding, we want to hear from you! Our headquarters are located in the Chicago area, however if you are outside the Chicago area, remote opportunities are available.
The Grants Associate will report to the Director of Grant Management and will be responsible for supporting SCN's grants department including providing grant services to Jewish nonprofit organizations nationally for security funding opportunities. This role is vital to expand SCN's assistance to Jewish organizations in obtaining vital Federal grant funding to help secure their facilities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO....
- Assist with the research, identification, development, and management of organization's internal grant opportunities and awards
- Assist in the development and implementation of current and new grant programs and services
- Work collaboratively with community organizations, agencies, strategic partners, consultants, and individuals
- Ensure that programmatic goals are met
- Support planning and preparation for virtual workshops and webinars
- Work on special projects, as needed
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE....
- Bachelor's degree
- At least two years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with at least one year experience writing grants
- Exhibit strong knowledge of FEMA's Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) grant award and implementation
- Goal oriented and strong ability to meet tight deadlines
- Adept at being flexible and navigating challenges
- Highly proficient with MS Excel, PowerPoint, World, email, and internet research
- Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment, give attention to detail and resolve problems.
- Must possess strong communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Extremely organized and can foster good working relationships, both internally and externally.
- Willingness to embrace ongoing feedback with a positive attitude and a continuous posture towards learning and growth.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, challenging and fast-paced organization
- Ability to make independent and accurate decisions with tact and diplomacy
